However, I just could not read this book. It...made...me...gag. I'm sure someone will be thrilled to find it and its fellows at a library used book sale. ok, I should have never tried to read this book. I'm not a fan of romance. I am some small part Ojibway, though, so I thought I might read a little bit of history in the book somewhere. I couldn't make it it past the romance part, though, to find much in the way of something I wanted to read. I can't believe this book. I've read a couple of these books, hoping the second would be better than the first. Nope. Ms. Edwards uses so many cliches and recycles them through two books it felt like I was reading the same thing the second time! What began with great promise became a great chore to finish. This is way too slow! i couldnt put it down Why do I keep reading these? I suppose because it's rare that I turn down a free book. I got a stack of these Savage books, and they make for good 'light reading', but some of the books are better than others, and this is not one of these books. What bothered me most was the dialogue, some of it felt so artificial and stilted that envisioning them speak in my head just made me want to crack up.

Like in several other Savage books, there are a lot of ellipses. And I do mean a lot. Sometimes there would be like, four of them in a single sentence... like... this, you... see? It just disrupted the flow. And the story is much the samehandsome Native American chief kidnaps a white woman, white woman fights but surrenders to his touch, white woman tries to escape after lovemaking, Native American has to kidnap her again... it gets formulaic after a while.

This serves as an prequel to 'Savage Innocence'. I read that one a while ago, and I was surprised to hear familiar names in this book. It was not immediately apparent until later, so it was kind of cool seeing two stories that were connected. This was the first book I read by Cassie Edwards... It immediately captured my interest and held it through the entire story just as all of her books have done since... I became a fan of hers that day with this book n would highly recommend Savage Obsession or any of her books to anyone looking for a great author of awesome stories!!! Love love love her books!!!
