Although a guide and therefore rather tedious to read, this book presents a refreshing approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes empathy The author s acknowledgment that much psychotherapy with people called borderlines has been harmful provides a good starting point Presenting their approach in terms of difficult people to work with is useful in terms of highlighting their techniques I would only argue that much of what they have to say applies to all psychotherapy. I found this a bit repetitive, the authors seemed to be making the same points over and over again but it s worth a read if you re interested in the topic Not too long.
